CompositionXtor 10 Tablet 10 is used to lower high cholesterol and triglycerides and reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing atorvastatin 10mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called statins.
This medicine is also used in people with inherited high cholesterol, and to protect people with diabetes or other risk factors who are at high risk of heart disease. It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol made by the liver. Take it at the same time, with or without food, and continue as prescribed even when you feel well.
A low-fat diet, regular exercise, keeping a healthy weight, limiting alcohol and not smoking support better cholesterol levels and heart health. Avoid drinking large amounts of grapefruit juice.
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver disease, an underactive thyroid, kidney problems, muscle problems, diabetes, or drink a lot of alcohol, and about other medicines you take, especially certain antibiotics, antifungals, HIV medicines or other cholesterol medicines. Your doctor may check your liver with blood tests. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially with fever or dark urine, straight away. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
