Teneza-M 500 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

• Assisting in glycaemic control

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Never take more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

Teneza-M 500 Tablet is taken orally.

Teneza-M 500 Tablet is composed of two active components:

• Metformin (500 mg): Belonging to the class of biguanides, metformin works by lessening the production of glucose in your liver. It also reduces the absorption of glucose in your intestines while enhancing insulin sensitivity, which means your body can use insulin more effectively. This leads to increased uptake and usage of glucose in your peripheral tissues. Being an extended-release formulation, metformin does not cause hypoglycemia or hyperinsulinemia.

• Teneligliptin (20 mg): Classified as a DPP-4 inhibitor, teneligliptin slows down the breakdown of incretin hormones, leading to an increase in their concentration in your bloodstream. This helps decrease both fasting and post-meal glucose levels. Teneligliptin achieves this by binding to DPP-4, preventing it from inactivating the incretins glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). This results in increased active incretin and insulin levels, decreased glucagon levels, and controlled glucose excursion after meals.

• Keep your Teneza-M 500 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.

• Avoid areas of high humidity; the tablets should be kept dry.

• Store in a secure place, out of sight and reach of children.
