CompositionRifastop 200 Tablet 10 is a gut-acting antibiotic used to treat traveller's diarrhoea caused by certain bacteria, to help prevent the brain effects of severe liver disease (hepatic encephalopathy), and to ease diarrhoea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D).
It contains rifaximin, an antibiotic that works mainly inside the gut and is barely absorbed into the body. It works by clearing harmful bacteria in the intestine.
Take it as prescribed, and complete the full course.
Tell your doctor about any liver problems before use. Report severe or bloody diarrhoea, or diarrhoea that does not improve.
