Rifagut 200 Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat infectious diarrhoea, irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D), and to reduce the risk of hepatic encephalopathy in patients with liver disease.
It contains rifaximin and works locally in the gastrointestinal tract to target and reduce harmful bacteria without significant absorption into the bloodstream. Take the tablet as directed by your doctor, with or without food, and complete the full prescribed course.
Dietary care plays a helpful role in digestive health. Drinking plenty of clean fluids, eating easy-to-digest foods, and avoiding greasy or overly spicy items can aid gut recovery during treatment.
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have severe liver impairment, high fever with bloody stools, or if your diarrhoea worsens despite treatment. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medication.
