Rcifax Tablet 10

Rcifax Tablet is used to manage traveller's diarrhoea caused by Escherichia coli, hepatic encephalopathy in liver disease, and irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D), improving overall gastrointestinal health.

Follow these instructions while taking Rcifax Tablet:

• Follow the precise dosage and timing instructions provided by your doctor.

• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• Consult your doctor before discontinuing the medication; do not stop taking it without their guidance.

• Adhere to the dietary recommendations given by your doctor.

Rcifax Tablet is taken orally.

Rcifax Tablet contains rifaximin (200mg), which acts on your body in the following ways:

• Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis: Rifaximin disrupts DNA-dependent RNA polymerase enzyme in bacteria. This enzyme is crucial for bacterial protein synthesis.

• Halts bacterial growth: By obstructing bacterial protein synthesis, rifaximin effectively stops the growth of harmful bacteria within your intestines.

• Targets specific types of bacteria: The action of this medicine is mainly aimed at anaerobic gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as aerobic gram-positive bacteria in your gut.

• Minimal systemic effects: Since rifaximin has negligible gastrointestinal absorption, it mainly acts within your intestines with minimal effects on your overall system.

• Store your Rcifax Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.

• The area should be dry and away from direct sunlight.

• Ensure the bottle is tightly closed to protect it from moisture.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Make sure to take the medicine before its expiry date.

• If you've been prescribed Rcifax Tablet for traveller's diarrhoea, always drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and help manage diarrhoea.

• For those managing hepatic encephalopathy or irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea, a low-fat diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins can be beneficial. You should also avoid alcohol as this can further damage your liver and exacerbate symptoms.
