CompositionRifagut 550 Tablet is used to manage gut conditions caused by harmful intestinal bacteria, including hepatic encephalopathy (confusion linked with liver disease), irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D) and infectious diarrhoea.
It contains rifaximin, an antibiotic that acts mainly within the gut. It works by reducing the harmful, toxin-producing bacteria in the intestine.
Take it with a full glass of water and complete the full course; in liver disease, long-term use may be needed.
Tell your doctor about any liver problems or inflammatory bowel disease before use. If you have liver disease, avoid alcohol and follow any dietary advice. Report worsening symptoms, new fever or blood in the stool.
