Rantac Dom Tablet 20

Rantac-Dom Tablet is used to manage acid-related gastrointestinal conditions.

Uses of Rantac-Dom Tablet are:

• Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and Acid Reflux: It helps prevent discomfort and pain associated with acid regurgitation.
• Heartburn: It relieves the burning chest discomfort caused by excess stomach acid.
• Peptic Ulcer Disease: It manages active sores in the digestive tract to provide effective relief.

Follow these instructions while taking Rantac-Dom Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Always take this medicine on an empty stomach, as directed by your doctor.

• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Rantac-Dom Tablet is taken orally.

Rantac-Dom Tablet contains two active ingredients that work in different ways to provide comprehensive relief from GERD and peptic ulcer symptoms:

• Ranitidine (150 mg): Classified as an H2 blocker or H2 receptor antagonist, ranitidine works by reducing the amount of acid produced in your stomach. It does this by blocking H2 receptors on acid-secreting cells within the lining of your stomach. This decreased acid production allows ulcers in the oesophagus and stomach to heal, relieving symptoms like heartburn and ulcer pain.

• Domperidone (10 mg): This is a prokinetic agent. It increases the contractions of your stomach and bowel muscles, speeding up the process of food moving through your stomach. This helps prevent symptoms like bloating and discomfort. Additionally, domperidone blocks dopamine receptors in a specific area of your brain known as the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ), which suppresses feelings of nausea and vomiting.

• Keep your Rantac-Dom Tablet in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and moisture.

• The ideal storage temperature should be between 15 to 30°C.

• Store the medicine in its original packaging until it's time to take it.

• Always keep Rantac-Dom Tablet out of sight and reach of children for safety.

• Check the expiry date on the label and use the medicine before this date.

• If you're experiencing symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), consider making dietary changes like reducing spicy foods and acidic drinks which can aggravate heartburn.

• For managing peptic ulcer disease, avoid alcohol as it can increase stomach acid production, leading to further irritation. Discuss with your doctor about any necessary dietary adjustments.
