Perinorm Injection is used to treat severe nausea and vomiting, diabetic gastroparesis and migraine-related gastric stasis when oral medicines are unsuitable. It is also used to prevent chemotherapy-induced and post-operative vomiting.
It contains metoclopramide, a prokinetic. It works by increasing the contractions of the stomach and upper intestine, speeding up stomach emptying, and by blocking the brain signals that trigger vomiting.
It is given by a trained healthcare professional under medical supervision.
Tell your care team about any epilepsy, Parkinson's disease or intestinal blockage before treatment. Report any involuntary muscle movements or stiffness after the injection at once.
