CompositionMYFOS Sachet is used to treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) such as acute cystitis or bladder infections in women. It contains fosfomycin, effective against bacteria like Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis.
Fosfomycin works by stopping bacteria from building their protective cell wall, which kills the bacteria responsible for the infection, and it is given as a single dose that reaches high concentrations in the urine to clear an uncomplicated bladder infection.
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a glass of water, and take it as a single dose exactly as your doctor prescribes, ideally on an empty stomach and before bedtime after emptying your bladder.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, as fosfomycin needs caution in this situation. Seek medical advice if your symptoms do not improve within a few days, or if you develop fever, back pain or blood in your urine, which may indicate a more serious kidney infection.
