Novefos Sachet is used as a single-dose antibiotic treatment for urinary tract infections in women and to prevent infection after prostate procedures in men.

Uses of Novefos Sachet are:

• Urinary Tract Infection Treatment: Treats uncomplicated UTIs in women, usually with one single dose.
• Prostate Procedure Protection: Helps prevent bacterial infection in men undergoing prostate biopsy or other urinary procedures.
• Symptom Relief: Relieves burning sensation and urgency to urinate caused by UTI bacteria.

Make sure to follow these instructions when taking Novefos Powder:

• Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a glass of water.

• Drink the mixture straight away, preferably at bedtime after you've emptied your bladder.

• Take this medicine two hours after meals.

• Remember to complete the full course as prescribed by your doctor, even if you start feeling better.

Novefos Powder is taken orally.

Novefos Powder contains fosfomycin trometamol powder (3000 MG), which acts on your body through two main mechanisms:

• Inhibiting Essential Enzyme: Fosfomycin works by blocking an enzyme vital for bacterial cell wall synthesis. By doing so, it disrupts bacterial growth, leading to their death.

• Reducing Bacterial Adherence: Fosfomycin also decreases the attachment of bacteria to cells lining your urinary tract. This action helps prevent further infection from occurring.

• Keep Novefos Powder at room temperature, ideally not exceeding 25°C.

• Protect it from direct heat and moisture.

• The medicine should be stored in a safe place, out of sight and reach of children.

• Since Novefos Powder manages urinary tract infections (UTIs), drinking plenty of water can be beneficial. It helps to flush out bacteria from your system more efficiently.

• Avoid alcohol and caffeine when taking this medicine. These substances may increase urine production and potentially worsen your UTI symptoms or side effects of the medicine.
