Etova-ER 600 Tablet is used to relieve pain, swelling and stiffness in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing etodolac in an extended-release form, and belongs to a class of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs).
The extended-release tablet releases the medicine slowly, giving longer-lasting relief from joint pain and stiffness through the day. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush, break or chew it. Take it with or after food to reduce stomach upset. Use it in the dose prescribed by your doctor and for the shortest time needed.
Maintaining a healthy weight, doing low-impact exercise such as walking or swimming, and applying warm compresses to stiff joints can support joint health alongside treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have had stomach ulcers or bleeding, asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease or a stroke, or liver or kidney disease, and about other medicines you take, including other painkillers and blood thinners. It is not recommended in late pregnancy, so tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Seek medical help if you notice black stools, vomiting of blood, chest pain or sudden weakness. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
