Etodolac (600 Mg)

Etogesic-ER Tablet belongs to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs). It is commonly used to relieve pain, inflammation and stiffness caused by various conditions such as acute pain, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

This medicine works by reducing the production of prostaglandins, substances in the body that cause pain, swelling and inflammation, easing joint pain and stiffness in degenerative joint conditions such as osteoarthritis, which affects cartilage and bones.

Take this extended-release tablet with food, at the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed, exactly as your doctor prescribes.

Tell your doctor if you have stomach ulcers, heart disease or kidney problems, as this medicine needs caution in these conditions. Avoid taking other NSAIDs or aspirin at the same time, and report any black or tarry stools or persistent stomach pain.

Etogesic-ER Tablet is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with joint conditions. In osteoarthritis, a degenerative joint disease that affects cartilage and bones, this tablet helps ease pain and stiffness.

Uses of Etogesic-ER Tablet 10 are:

Osteoarthritis: Eases pain and stiffness in this degenerative joint disease affecting cartilage and bones.
Rheumatoid Arthritis: Relieves pain and inflammation caused by rheumatoid arthritis.
Acute Pain: Manages acute pain conditions.

Swallow it with water, preferably after food, to prevent nausea.
Do not cut, break or chew the tablet.
It would be best to take the tablet at a fixed time for optimal results.

Etogesic-ER Tablet should be taken orally.

Etogesic-ER Tablet 10 may cause some side effects that are usually mild and go away as your body adjusts to the medicine.

A few common side effects of Etogesic-ER Tablet 10:

Digestive: Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and loose motions (diarrhoea) may occur.
Neurological: Dizziness has been reported.

If side effects do not improve or become serious, speak to your doctor right away.

Management Of Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolve on discontinuing Etogesic-ER Tablet. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Etogesic-ER Tablet contains the following component:

Etodolac (600 mg): It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that relieves inflammation by blocking substances that trigger pain and swelling. Etodolac also acts as a pain reliever, reducing discomfort by affecting pain signals in the brain.

Pregnancy

Etogesic-ER Tablet should not be used during pregnancy as they may harm the developing foetus. Consult the doctor before taking this tablet if pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Breastfeeding

This tablet should not be used while breastfeeding as it may pass into breast milk and harm the infant. Consult with the doctor before taking Etogesic-ER Tablet if you are a breastfeeding woman.

Liver

Etogesic-ER Tablet may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision, affecting the ability to drive or operate machinery. Refrain from driving or operating machinery if you experience these symptoms.

Allergy

Inform your doctor about if you are allergic to etodolac or orther nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) before starting treatment with Etogesic-ER Tablet. Read the label carefully before using this medication.

Children

Older Patients

Drug-Drug Interactions

Etogesic-ER Tablet can interact with medications, including

Aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin, can increase the risk of stomach ulcers and bleeding when taken with this tablet.
Blood thinners such as warfarin can increase the risk of bleeding when taken with this medicine.
Diuretics such as bumetanidecan have reduced effectiveness of diuretics when taken with this tablet.
Antidepressants such as lithium can have increase levels in the bloodstream, leading to toxicity when taken with this medication.
Antimetabolites such as methotrexate can have increase levels in the bloodstream when taken with this medication.
Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) such as irbesartan can have reduced effectiveness when taken with this tablet.
Beta-blockers such as atenolol can have reduced effectiveness when taken with this tablet.

Drug-Food Interactions

This tablet should be taken with food or milk to reduce the risk of stomach upset and ulcers. Avoiding spicy or fatty foods while taking this tablet is recommended.
