Eplerite 25 Tablet 10

Eplerite 25 Tablet is a potassium-sparing diuretic used in the treatment of heart failure and high blood pressure. It works by inhibiting the action of aldosterone, a substance produced within the body that controls your blood pressure and improves heart function.

Follow these instructions while taking Eplerite 25 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
• Take this medicine at the same time each day.
• You can take this tablet with or without food.
• Consult your doctor for specific advice about your treatment.

Eplerite 25 Tablet is taken orally.

Eplerite 25 Tablet contains eplerenone (25 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Selective Aldosterone Receptor Blockade: Eplerenone selectively binds to and inhibits mineralocorticoid receptors, particularly those that respond to aldosterone, a hormone that regulates salt and water balance in the body.
• Increased Sodium Excretion: By blocking aldosterone's effects, eplerenone causes increased sodium excretion through urine (a process called natriuresis), which helps reduce fluid retention and lower blood pressure.
• Potassium-Sparing Effect: Unlike other diuretics, eplerenone decreases potassium excretion from the body, helping maintain normal potassium levels while providing blood pressure-lowering benefits.
• Reduced Cardiac Remodelling: In heart failure patients, eplerenone helps reduce harmful changes in heart structure and function (cardiac remodelling) that can occur after a heart attack, improving overall heart health.

• Store Eplerite 25 Tablet at room temperature below 30°C in its original packaging.
• Keep the medicine in a tightly closed container protected from moisture and light.
• Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Keep out of reach and sight of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Reduce your salt intake, as high sodium consumption can worsen high blood pressure and counteract the effects of Eplerite 25 Tablet.
• Maintain regular physical activity, such as brisk walking for 30 minutes daily, to help manage your blood pressure and improve heart health alongside your medicine.
