Dapefy M|XR Tablet is used for the following:

• Regulating blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes

• Aiding in diet and exercise plans for better control of type 2 diabetes

• Lowering the risk of hospitalization due to heart failure in adults with type 2 diabetes

• Reducing the risk of sustained eGFR decline and end-stage kidney disease

Follow these instructions while taking Dapefy M|XR Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water during your evening meal

• Do not crush, cut or chew the tablets as this can affect how the medicine is released into your body

• Avoid taking more than what your doctor has prescribed

• If you feel that you need a higher dose, consult your doctor before making any changes to your dosage

Dapefy M|XR Tablet is taken orally.

Dapefy M|XR Tablet is composed of two active ingredients:

• Dapagliflozin (10 mg): Dapagliflozin works by inhibiting a protein in your kidneys called sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2). This protein is usually responsible for reabsorbing most of the glucose that gets filtered through your kidneys. By blocking its action, dapagliflozin decreases the reabsorption of this glucose, thereby causing more glucose to be excreted from your body through urine.

• Metformin (500 mg): Metformin is an antihyperglycemic agent which enhances your body's ability to deal with excess glucose. It does this by decreasing the production of glucose in your liver, reducing absorption of glucose from your intestines, and increasing the uptake and use of glucose by peripheral tissues in your body.

• Store Dapefy M|XR Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C

• Protect the tablets from moisture to maintain their effectiveness

• Keep the product securely out of reach of children

• Always check the expiry date before taking any medicine.

• Since Dapefy M|XR Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes, try to maintain a balanced diet with low sugar content. This helps in controlling blood sugar levels effectively.

• Regular exercise can also assist in managing diabetes. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity, such as brisk walking, on most days of the week.
