Cilacar T 20/40 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of essential hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Reduction of cardiovascular risk in patients with hypertension and additional risk factors

Here are some directions to follow while taking Cilacar T 20/40 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

Cilacar T 20/40 Tablet is taken orally.

Cilacar T 20/40 Tablet acts through the synergistic action of its two active ingredients:

• Cilnidipine (20 mg): This ingredient is a calcium channel blocker, meaning it inhibits specific channels in your body that transport calcium. By blocking these channels, cilnidipine relaxes the smooth muscles in your blood vessels, leading to a widening of blood vessels and reduced blood pressure.

• Telmisartan (40 mg): As an angiotensin II receptor blocker, telmisartan selectively attaches itself to certain receptors in your body, preventing the constriction of blood vessels and secretion of a hormone called aldosterone. This leads to a relaxation of blood vessels, reduced blood pressure, and less strain on your heart.

• Store Cilacar T 20/40 Tablet at a comfortable room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep it in its original packing to protect it from light and moisture.

• Do not place it near any heat sources or in direct sunlight.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children.

• Check the expiry date before use, and discard if past this date.

• High blood pressure can be managed by reducing your salt intake. Try to avoid table salt, high-sodium processed foods, and fast foods.

• Regular physical activity can help lower your blood pressure. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, such as walking or cycling, every week. Always consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regime.
