CompositionNexovas T 20/40 Tablet is a blood pressure medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to help lower the risk of complications such as heart attack and stroke. It is a combination medicine containing cilnidipine (a calcium channel blocker that relaxes the blood vessels) and telmisartan (an angiotensin receptor blocker), and belongs to a class of medicines called antihypertensives.
This medicine works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels while also blocking a hormone that narrows them, so blood flows more easily and blood pressure falls. Take it by mouth as prescribed, at the same time each day, and continue taking it regularly even when you feel well.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active and maintaining a healthy weight support blood pressure control alongside this medicine. Rise slowly from sitting or lying to reduce dizziness.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, are pregnant or planning pregnancy, or take other blood pressure medicines or potassium supplements. It should not be used during pregnancy, and you should report marked ankle swelling or fainting promptly.
