Bacstol-200 Tablet is an antibiotic used primarily for the management of uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by specific bacteria like E. coli and K. pneumoniae. It is also occasionally used for managing respiratory tract bacterial infections and certain cases of acne when caused by susceptible bacteria.

Follow these instructions while taking Bacstol-200 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Do not take more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• The medicine should be taken at evenly spaced intervals.

Bacstol-200 Tablet contains trimethoprim (200mg), which acts on your body in the following ways:

• Inhibiting Dihydrofolate Reductase: Trimethoprim blocks a certain enzyme in bacteria called dihydrofolate reductase. This enzyme is crucial for bacteria to make folic acid, which is needed for their growth and reproduction.

• Preventing DNA, RNA, and Protein Synthesis: By blocking dihydrofolate reductase, trimethoprim prevents bacteria from making certain substances required for creating DNA, RNA, and proteins. Without these substances, the bacteria can't grow and multiply.

By stopping bacteria from growing and multiplying in this way, Bacstol-200 Tablet helps manage bacterial infections, allowing your body's immune system to fight off the infection effectively.

• Keep Bacstol-200 Tablet in a tightly closed container.

• Store it at room temperature, ideally between 15° to 30°C.
