Azr Tablet 10 contains azathioprine (50 mg), which operates on your body in a specific manner:

• Inhibition of Purine Synthesis: Azathioprine works by hampering purine synthesis in the body. Purines are necessary for DNA and RNA production. By inhibiting their synthesis, azathioprine suppresses immune responses mediated by T cells.

• Disruption of DNA Synthesis: After being absorbed by the body, azathioprine is converted into 6-mercaptopurine, which then transforms into 6-thioguanine nucleotides. These nucleotides disrupt DNA synthesis and inhibit the growth of fast-dividing cells like T and B lymphocytes, resulting in the suppression of the immune system.
