Zedott Capsule 10

Zedott 100 mg Capsule is used to treat acute diarrhoea in adults and children. It helps reduce watery stools and fluid loss from the intestines, relieving abdominal discomfort. It is commonly used alongside oral rehydration salts (ORS) to maintain hydration.

Here's how to take Zedott Capsule:

• Thoroughly follow the dosage and timing guidelines provided by your doctor for taking this medicine.
• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.
• Avoid discontinuing this medication without your doctor's advice. Always consult your doctor before stopping.
• Adhere to the diet plan recommended by your doctor.

Zedott Capsule is taken orally.

Zedott Capsule contains racecadotril (100 mg) which works on your body in the following ways:

• Conversion to Active Metabolite: Once taken, racecadotril changes into its active form, thiorphan, in your body.
• Inhibition of Enkephalinase: Thiorphan inhibits an enzyme called enkephalinase which usually breaks down enkephalins – these are substances naturally found in our body that help control water and electrolyte secretion into our intestines.
• Prolongation of Antisecretory Action: By preventing the breakdown of enkephalins, racecadotril extends their antisecretory action on your gut. This helps decrease fluid and electrolyte loss during episodes of diarrhoea without affecting the normal movement within your intestines.

• Store Zedott Capsule in a cool, dry place, ideally at room temperature, which is around 25 degrees Celsius.
• Keep the medicine away from direct sunlight and moisture to maintain its efficacy.
• Always ensure it is out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
• Check the pack for the expiration date and make sure you don't use the medicine after this date.

• When dealing with diarrhoea, it's important for you or your child to stay well-hydrated. So, make sure to consume plenty of fluids like water, clear broths, or oral rehydration solutions.
• Try to eat bland, easily digestible foods such as rice, bananas, and toast until symptoms subside. Spicy or fatty foods could worsen diarrhoea. Remember to consult your doctor if symptoms persist beyond three days.
