CompositionEnuff Capsule is used to treat sudden (acute) diarrhoea by reducing the excess water and salts that the intestines lose during an infection. It contains racecadotril, which helps dry up watery stools without slowing down normal gut movement or causing constipation.
This medicine works by keeping the body's natural anti-diarrhoeal chemicals active, which reduces the amount of fluid released into the gut, and acts only on the gut lining without affecting the central nervous system. It helps prevent dehydration while your body naturally fights off the infection.
Use this capsule alongside Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) to maintain proper hydration during diarrhoea. For children, the contents of the capsule can be mixed with food or water, as prescribed by your doctor.
Consult your doctor if you notice blood in the stool, or if fever remains very high despite treatment. Seek medical advice if diarrhoea does not improve within a couple of days.
