Xtor F Tablet 10

Xtor-F Tablet is used to manage mixed dyslipidaemia and primary hypercholesterolaemia.

Uses of Xtor-F Tablet are:

• Mixed Dyslipidaemia: Helps manage high LDL cholesterol, high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol.
• Primary Hypercholesterolaemia: Helps lower high cholesterol levels.
• Lipid Management: Supports long-term control of cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Follow these instructions while taking Xtor-F Tablet :

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid chewing, crushing or splitting the tablet.

• You can take this medicine at any time of day, with or without food.

• To maintain consistent blood levels of the medicine, it is advisable to take it at the same time each day.

• Do not adjust your dose without consulting your doctor.

Xtor-F Tablet is taken orally.

Xtor-F Tablet comprises two active substances:

• Atorvastatin (10 mg): This component works by competitively inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme responsible for converting HMG-CoA to mevalonate, a precursor of cholesterol. This inhibition primarily occurs in the liver. By reducing cholesterol synthesis and increasing the number of hepatic LDL receptors available to clear LDL from circulation, atorvastatin manages total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and VLDL cholesterol levels.

• Fenofibrate (160 mg): Fenofibrate enhances its lipid-modifying effects by activating the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα). This action increases lipolysis (the breakdown of fats) and eliminates triglyceride-rich particles from plasma by activating lipoprotein lipase and reducing production of apoprotein C-III. Additionally, fenofibrate boosts HDL cholesterol levels by increasing the production of apo AI and apo AII.

• Store your Xtor-F Tablet at a cool temperature of 20° to 25°C.

• Keep it away from light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Remember to use the tablet before its expiry date.

• For managing mixed dyslipidemia, opt for a low-fat diet. Incorporate more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains while reducing your intake of saturated fats found in red meats and dairy.

• Regular physical exercise can also help reduce total cholesterol levels. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity, like brisk walking or cycling, most days of the week.
