Tranlok E Tablet 10

Tranlok-E Tablet is used to manage heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia). It helps reduce excessive bleeding during menstruation but does not address pain or act as a contraceptive. Ensure there are no underlying uterine conditions before starting this medication, as it specifically targets blood loss management during menstruation.

Here's how to take Tranlok-E Tablet correctly:

• Swallow the tablet whole without breaking or chewing it.

• You can take it with or without food.

• Begin taking your medication only once your menstrual flow has started.

Tranlok-E Tablet is taken orally.

The Tranlok-E Tablet comprises two active ingredients, each with a unique function:

• Etamsylate (250 mg): This component works by enhancing platelet adhesion to blood vessel walls and strengthening small blood vessels (capillaries). By making these capillaries less fragile and leaky, etamsylate aids in forming initial clots at the bleeding sites.

• Tranexamic Acid (500 mg): This substance operates by inhibiting an enzyme named plasmin that breaks down fibrin – a protein mesh holding clots together. By preventing this breakdown process, known as fibrinolysis, tranexamic acid helps stabilise clots and reduce bleeding. Please note that these clots are eventually cleared through other mechanisms in the body.

• Store your Tranlok-E Tablet at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C.

• Keep it away from direct light and moisture.

• Ensure the medicine is out of reach of children.

• Always check the expiry date before use.

• Drinking plenty of water can help manage heavy menstrual bleeding. It helps keep your blood volume up, which can reduce the intensity of heavy periods.

• Consuming iron-rich foods like spinach, lentils, and red meat can help replenish iron lost during heavy menstrual periods and prevent anaemia.
