Sylate-T 500 Tablet is used to manage heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding, dysfunctional uterine bleeding unrelated to menopause, and excessive bleeding from small blood vessels following surgery.

Uses of Sylate-T 500 Tablet are:

• Heavy Menstrual Bleeding: Reduces excessive blood loss during periods.
• Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding: Helps control abnormal uterine bleeding not related to menopause.
• Post-Surgical Bleeding: Controls excessive capillary bleeding after surgery or dental procedures.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet, as this can impact how your body absorbs the medicine.

• Take Sylate T 500 Tablet with or without food.

• It's vital not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Sylate T 500 Tablet consists of the following components:

• Etamsylate (250 mg): This ingredient works on the first step of hemostasis, which prevents bleeding. It enhances platelet adhesiveness, meaning it helps platelets (blood cells that help in clotting) stick together more effectively. Further, etamsylate restores capillary resistance, strengthening the small blood vessels and reducing their tendency to bleed.

• Tranexamic Acid (500 mg): This component inhibits fibrinolysis, breaking down blood clots. Tranexamic acid is a synthetic derivative of the amino acid lysine. It reversibly blocks lysine binding sites on plasminogen molecules - proteins forming plasmin that breaks down clots. As a result, plasmin cannot interact with and break down fibrin clots, stabilising these blood clots.

• Store your Sylate T 500 Tablet in a cool and dry place, ideally at room temperature.

• Keep the medicine protected from light and moisture.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

• Ensure you use the tablet before its expiry date.

• If you experience heavy menstrual bleeding, maintaining a balanced diet rich in iron can be beneficial. Iron-rich foods like spinach, lentils, and red meat can help replenish iron loss due to excessive bleeding.
