Torsid Plus 20/50 Tablet is used for managing the following conditions:

• Oedema associated with congestive heart failure

• Fluid retention due to kidney disorders like nephrotic syndrome

• Oedema and ascites caused by liver cirrhosis

• Resistant hypertension not responding well to other antihypertensive medicines

• Hyperaldosteronism, a condition characterised by excess aldosterone hormone production.

Here are some instructions to follow while taking Torsid Plus 20/50 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet as a whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid breaking, crushing or chewing the tablet.

• It's better to take this medicine with food to prevent stomach discomfort.

• Maintain consistency in the timing of taking your daily dose.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Torsid Plus 20/50 Tablet is taken orally.

Torsid Plus 20/50 Tablet comprises two active ingredients that work together to eliminate excess fluid and salt from your body:

• Spironolactone (50 mg): This is a potassium-sparing diuretic that blocks the action of the aldosterone hormone in the kidneys. As a result, less sodium is reabsorbed by your body, which leads to lower water retention. Meanwhile, it helps keep your potassium levels balanced.

• Torsemide (20 mg): This loop diuretic halts sodium and chloride reabsorption in the kidneys, thereby increasing urine production. Compared to other loop diuretics like furosemide, torsemide has a more sustained effect.
