CompositionDytor Plus 20 Tablet is used to reduce fluid build-up (oedema) caused by heart, liver or kidney disease, and to help control high blood pressure linked to excess fluid in the body. It also helps manage swelling caused by hyperaldosteronism.
It contains torsemide, a loop diuretic, combined with spironolactone, a potassium-sparing diuretic, so it increases urine output while helping the body retain potassium. Take it in the morning as prescribed to avoid frequent urination disturbing your sleep. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as stopping suddenly may cause fluid to build up again.
Reducing salt in your diet supports the medicine's effect on fluid retention and blood pressure. Limiting foods high in potassium, such as bananas and oranges, may also be advised, since this medicine can raise potassium levels. Staying well hydrated and monitoring your weight for sudden changes can help you and your doctor track your response to treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, diabetes, or are taking other medicines that affect potassium levels. Your doctor may check your kidney function and potassium levels periodically. Tell your doctor if you notice muscle weakness or an irregular heartbeat. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by your doctor.
