Tonact 40 Tablet is used to treat high cholesterol by lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, increasing good cholesterol (HDL), and reducing the risk of heart attack or stroke.

Tonact, 40 Tablet should be taken as a whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
Follow the doctor’s instructions regarding the dose and duration of taking the Tonact 40 Tablet.

Tonact 40 Tablet should be taken orally.

Most people taking this tablet do not experience serious side effects. The common and usually mild side effects of Tonact 40 Tablet include muscle pain (Myalgia), joint pain, headache, nausea, or diarrhoea.

The side effects of the Tonact 40 mg Tablet are temporary and go away with time.

Tonact 40 Tablet consists of the following constituent:

Atorvastatin (40 mg): It is a statin that works by inhibiting the enzyme HMG CoA reductase, which plays a crucial role in cholesterol synthesis in the liver. By inhibiting this enzyme, Atorvastatin reduces the production of cholesterol.
It also increases the number of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptors in liver cells, which helps in the clearance of LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream. These mechanisms contribute to reducing LDL cholesterol levels and managing lipid disorders.
It also increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in the blood.

Pregnancy

Over Dose

Missed Dose

If you forget to take the dose of the Tonact 40 Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If the time for the next dose is close, skipping the missed dose and resuming your regular dosage pattern is recommended. Increasing the dosage should only be done after consulting the doctor.

Store Tonact 40 Tablet at room temperature of 15-25 ºC.
Protect it from light and moisture.
Keep the tablet away from children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiration date has passed.

Do relaxation techniques for both body and mind, like yoga, meditation and exercises.
Do breathing exercises to get more oxygen supply.
Limit sugar intake, especially in homemade food items.
Avoid excess intake of salt. As per the American Heart Association, the table salt intake should not exceed 2300 mg/day.
As a preventive measure, avoid alcohol consumption and quit smoking.
In case of muscle weakness, fatigue, and tiredness, immediately inform the doctor.
