Atorva 40 Tablet 10

Atorva 40 Tablet is used to lower high cholesterol and triglycerides in adults, reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke, including in familial hypercholesterolaemia.

Uses of Atorva 40 Tablet are:

• Cholesterol Control: Lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and raises HDL cholesterol.
• Familial Hypercholesterolaemia: Used in patients with inherited high cholesterol.
• Heart Protection: Helps reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.

• Swallow the Atorva 40 Tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the Atorva 40 Tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
• Take the Atorva 40 Tablet at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication. 
• Do not change your Atorva 40 Tablet dose or take them more often than prescribed.

• Atorva 40 Tablet is taken orally.

• Atorvastatin, the active ingredient in Atorva 40 Tablet is a statin medication that works by blocking an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which is involved in the production of cholesterol in the liver.
• By inhibiting this enzyme, atorvastatin reduces the cholesterol produced in the liver and increases the liver's ability to remove LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol from the blood. It leads to decreased LDL cholesterol levels and increased HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol levels, or "good" cholesterol.
• Atorvastatin also reduces the levels of triglycerides in the blood, which are another type of fat that can contribute to cardiovascular disease. By lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood, atorvastatin can reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases.

• Store this medicine at a temperature below 30 ºC.
• Protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep Atorva 40 Tablet away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• A diet low in saturated and trans fats, cholesterol, and refined carbohydrates helps lower lipid levels. A diet rich in fibre, whole grains, lean protein, and omega-3 fatty acids is beneficial.
• Eat fatty fish such as salmon, flax seeds, chia seeds, walnuts, canola oil, and soybeans or take omega-3 supplements that promote a healthy heart.
• Regular exercise can help lower lipid levels, reduce inflammation, and improve heart health. Thirty minutes of moderate-intensity exercise daily can reduce the risk of stroke and heart attacks.
• Apple cider vinegar can help lower cholesterol levels by reducing cholesterol absorption from food. Add 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar to a glass of water, and drinking it before meals can help improve digestion and manage weight.
• Limiting alcohol and quitting smoking can promote good cholesterol, reduce oxidative stress, and lower atherosclerosis risk.
• Sipping a cup or two of green tea daily can reduce bad cholesterol in the blood. Green tea is rich in antioxidants and helps lower LDL cholesterol levels. 

• Before taking Atorva 40 Tablet, inform your doctor if you experience unexplained muscle aches or weakness or have diabetes and thyroid problems.
• Consult your doctor before taking Atorva 40 Tablet if you drink more than 2 glasses of alcohol daily.
