Glimp M2 SR Tablet is used to manage high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when diet, exercise and weight control alone are not enough. It helps keep blood glucose steadier through the day and lowers the risk of long-term diabetes problems. It combines two blood-sugar-lowering medicines from different groups.
It contains glimepiride, a sulfonylurea, and metformin, a biguanide, in a sustained-release form that releases the medicine gradually. Take it as prescribed, usually with a meal. Continue taking it even when you feel well, and do not stop suddenly without your doctor's advice, as blood sugar can rise again.
A balanced, portion-controlled diet, regular activity and weight management help this medicine work as intended. Routine blood sugar monitoring and regular eye and foot checks support long-term diabetes care.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems and about other medicines before starting. Be alert for low blood sugar, which can cause sweating, shakiness, hunger or confusion. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
