Telsar Beta 25 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). It combines telmisartan (ARB) and metoprolol (beta-blocker). This medication is used to lessen the risk of serious heart conditions including stroke, heart attack, or death from cardiovascular causes in high-risk adults (e.g., those aged 55 years or older or unable to take ACE inhibitors).
Telsar Beta 25 Tablet is used for hypertension or high blood pressure. It is prescribed for minimising the risk of stroke, preventing heart attacks, and reducing the chances of cardiovascular-related mortality in high-risk individuals aged 55 years and above who are unable to take ACE inhibitors. This combination (Telmisartan + Metoprolol) provides dual control over vascular resistance and heart rate.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet.
You can take it with or without food.
It's important to continue taking this medicine as long as your doctor recommends. Do not discontinue without consulting your doctor first.
Telsar Beta 25 Tablet is taken orally.
Telsar Beta 25 Tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness, headache, fatigue, nausea, diarrhoea, cold extremities, or slow heart rate. If these side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
Dizziness: If you feel dizzy after taking Telsar Beta 25 Tablet, try sitting or lying down until the sensation passes.

Telsar Beta 25 Tablet comprises two active ingredients:
Metoprolol Succinate (25 mg): This is a beta-blocker that works by blocking beta-1 adrenergic receptors located in your heart and blood vessels. By doing this, it slows down your heartbeat and reduces the force with which your heart pumps blood around your body. This effectively lowers your blood pressure.
Telmisartan (40 mg): Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It functions by blocking the action of a hormone called angiotensin II which usually causes your blood vessels to narrow. When telmisartan prevents this action, it allows your blood vessels to relax and widen, thereby contributing to the reduction of your blood pressure.
