Telmikind-LN Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), particularly when single‑drug therapy is insufficient. This combination of telmisartan (an ARB) and cilnidipine (a calcium-channel blocker) relaxes and widens blood vessels, easing the heart’s workload while lowering blood pressure and reducing cardiovascular risk.

Administering Telmikind-LN Tablet requires the following steps:

Telmikind-LN Tablet combines two active ingredients that work together to effectively lower blood pressure:

• Cilnidipine (10 mg): This component acts as a calcium channel blocker, inhibiting calcium ions from entering vascular smooth muscle cells. Preventing these cells from contracting causes the blood vessels to relax and widen, an action known as vasodilation. Cilnidipine targets both L-type and N-type calcium channels. By blocking N-type channels present in the nervous system, it reduces the release of norepinephrine, a substance that narrows blood vessels, adding to its blood pressure-lowering effect.
• Telmisartan (40 mg): Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker that prevents angiotensin II from binding to AT1 receptors on blood vessels which would normally cause them to narrow. By preventing this interaction, telmisartan allows blood vessels to relax and widen thereby reducing blood pressure. Additionally, telmisartan inhibits angiotensin II-induced release of aldosterone from adrenal glands. Aldosterone typically increases blood pressure by promoting sodium and water retention.
