Telmikind-LN Tablet is used to treat hypertension, particularly when single-drug therapy is insufficient, by relaxing and widening blood vessels, easing the heart’s workload, and reducing cardiovascular risk.

Administering Telmikind-LN Tablet requires the following steps:

• Follow the dosage and timing instructions provided by your doctor precisely.

Telmikind-LN Tablet combines two active ingredients that work together to effectively lower blood pressure:

• Cilnidipine (10 mg): This component acts as a calcium channel blocker, inhibiting calcium ions from entering vascular smooth muscle cells. Preventing these cells from contracting causes the blood vessels to relax and widen, an action known as vasodilation. Cilnidipine targets both L-type and N-type calcium channels. By blocking N-type channels present in the nervous system, it reduces the release of norepinephrine, a substance that narrows blood vessels, adding to its blood pressure-lowering effect.
• Telmisartan (40 mg): Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker that prevents angiotensin II from binding to AT1 receptors on blood vessels which would normally cause them to narrow. By preventing this interaction, telmisartan allows blood vessels to relax and widen thereby reducing blood pressure. Additionally, telmisartan inhibits angiotensin II-induced release of aldosterone from adrenal glands. Aldosterone typically increases blood pressure by promoting sodium and water retention.

These two components work in tandem, managing blood pressure through different pathways, and providing a more comprehensive approach to blood pressure reduction than using either medicine alone.
