Talimus 0.03% Ointment is used to manage moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults. It contains tacrolimus, a calcineurin inhibitor from the macrolide class of immunosuppressive medicines, and is generally prescribed when other treatments have not worked well or are unsuitable.
This ointment reduces the inflammation, redness and itching that occur in eczema, without the thinning effects associated with long-term steroid use. Apply a thin layer to the affected skin as prescribed by your doctor, gently rubbing it in until absorbed.
Avoid excessive sun exposure and use sun protection on treated areas, as the skin may become more sensitive to sunlight.
Tell your doctor if the treated skin shows signs of infection, such as increasing redness, warmth or pus. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
