Feburic 40 Tablet is used for the long-term management of gout. By keeping uric acid levels low, it prevents the formation of the sharp, needle-like crystals that cause excruciating joint pain and swelling. Regular use of this medication helps prevent permanent joint damage and reduces the frequency of future "gout attacks."
This treatment contains Febuxostat. It works by blocking an enzyme called xanthine oxidase, which is responsible for producing uric acid in the body. By "turning down" the production of uric acid at the source, the medication allows the body to gradually clear out existing crystals from the joints.
This tablet is taken once daily, with or without food. Important: When you first start this medicine, you might experience a temporary "flare-up" of gout; your doctor may give you a separate painkiller to use during this transition. Do not stop the medication during a flare-up. Consult your healthcare provider if you notice any unusual skin rashes.
