Feburic 40 Tablet is used for the long-term prevention and management of gout in adults by lowering raised uric acid levels, helping to reduce the frequency of gout attacks, and allowing the gradual clearing of uric acid crystals from the joints.
It contains febuxostat (40 mg), a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. Take it as prescribed, with or without food. A gout flare may occur when first starting treatment; continue the medicine and discuss management with your doctor.
Drinking plenty of fluids and limiting alcohol and purine-rich foods (such as red meat, offal and some seafood) support your treatment alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any heart disease, liver or kidney problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report any skin rash immediately, as this requires stopping the medicine and seeking urgent medical review.
