Feburic 20 Tablet is used to manage gout by lowering the level of uric acid in the blood. Keeping uric acid under control helps prevent the painful joint attacks, redness and swelling that gout causes.
Feburic contains febuxostat, which blocks xanthine oxidase, an enzyme the body uses to make uric acid, so lowering blood uric acid levels over time and reducing the risk of new gout attacks and joint damage.
Take this tablet as prescribed, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and continue treatment regularly even between attacks, since it prevents future flares rather than treating current pain.
You may notice more frequent gout attacks in the first few months as uric acid stores shift, so do not stop this medicine on your own; your doctor may add a short course of anti-inflammatory treatment to cover this period. Tell your doctor if you have heart disease, as febuxostat carries a higher cardiovascular risk in some patients, and seek urgent care for chest pain or breathlessness.
