Met XL 12.5 Tablet may interact with the following medications:

• Other antihypertensives: If you're taking medicines like atenolol, amlodipine, or diltiazem, Met XL 12.5 Tablet can potentially increase their effects, causing an overly slow heart rate (bradycardia) and low blood pressure.
• CYP2D6 inhibitors: Medicines like fluoxetine and paroxetine, when taken along with the medicine, may increase the level of metoprolol succinate in your body, leading to sudden lowering of blood pressure (hypotension).
• Antiarrhythmics: When used alongside medicines like amiodarone or flecainide, the tablet might alter their effectiveness in managing irregular heart rhythms.

Certain foods can affect the absorption of Met XL 12.5 Tablet, such as:

• High-fat meals: Consuming high-fat meals like dairy products, whole eggs, and fatty fish can slow down the absorption of metoprolol succinate, potentially decreasing its efficacy.
• High-sodium food: Foods rich in sodium, like processed cheese and seafood, may reduce the effectiveness of the medicine.

Met XL 12.5 Tablet may interact with the following diseases:

• Severe bradycardia: This medicine is contraindicated in patients with a significantly slow heart rate, as it could further slow your heartbeat.
• Decompensated heart failure: People with decompensated heart failure, a critical stage of the disease where symptoms are at their worst, are contraindicated from taking this tablet as it could worsen their condition.
• Bronchospastic disease: Met XL 12.5 Tablet is contraindicated in patients with such conditions.
• Liver disease: If you have liver disease, the medicine might be metabolised slower in your body, potentially increasing its effects and side effects.

The daily dose of Met XL 12.5 Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. The dosage may vary depending on factors like the severity of your condition and your body's response to the medicine.
