CompositionSacubright 50 Tablet 14 is a heart medicine used to treat chronic heart failure in adults whose heart muscle is weakened and cannot pump enough blood. It is a combination medicine containing sacubitril (which helps blood vessels relax and reduces fluid overload) and valsartan (which relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure), and belongs to a class of medicines called angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors (ARNIs).
This medicine works by relaxing the blood vessels and helping the body remove excess fluid, which eases the strain on the heart, improves its pumping, and eases symptoms such as breathlessness and tiredness. It also reduces the risk of hospital admission for heart problems. Take it daily as prescribed by your doctor.
Following any advice on salt and fluids, weighing yourself regularly if asked to, staying active within your limits and quitting smoking can support your heart alongside this medicine. Regular blood tests check your kidneys and potassium.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, a history of swelling under the skin (angioedema), or if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, and about all other medicines you take. It must not be taken together with ACE inhibitors. Report swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or marked dizziness, straight away.
