CompositionS Lactone 25 Tablet is primarily used to manage hypertension (high blood pressure) and fluid retention. It contains spironolactone, part of a specialised class of medicines called potassium-sparing diuretics, which help the body remove excess salt and water through urine while preventing the loss of potassium.
This medicine is also effective in managing oedema (swelling) caused by congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and certain kidney disorders, and in managing primary hyperaldosteronism, a condition where the adrenal glands produce too much of a hormone that causes the body to retain salt and lose potassium. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed, preferably in the morning to avoid nighttime urination.

Before starting, inform your doctor if you have kidney disease or are taking potassium supplements. If you experience muscle weakness or an irregular heartbeat, notify your doctor immediately.
