Ipratropium (500 Mcg) + Levosalbutamol (1.25 Mg)

Ipratrop Respules are used to relieve and help control the wheezing, breathlessness and chest tightness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. They are also used to treat bronchospasm associated with COPD.

They contain ipratropium and levosalbutamol, two bronchodilators. They work by relaxing the muscles around the airways, which opens them up and makes breathing easier.

Use the respules with a nebuliser as directed by your doctor.

Tell your doctor about any heart conditions, glaucoma or prostate problems before starting.

Ipratrop Respules are used to relieve breathing difficulty in COPD.

Uses of Ipratrop Respules are:

COPD: Relieves wheezing and breathlessness in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Chronic Bronchitis and Emphysema: Eases the symptoms of chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
Bronchospasm: Provides relief during acute episodes of airway tightening.

Administer Ipra Trop Respule as follows:

Keep a nebulizer ready for administering the medicine
Load the respule into the nebulizer
Breathe in slowly and deeply through your mouthpiece while the machine is on
Continue until the entire solution in the respule has been consumed, usually over 5 to 15 minutes.
Discard any unused solution left in the respule
Do not swallow or inject; this medicine is meant for inhalation only
For specific advice on frequency and dosage, consult your doctor

Ipra Trop Respule is administered via inhalation.

Ipratrop Respules may cause some side effects that are usually mild and go away as your body adjusts to the medicine.

A few common side effects of Ipratrop Respules:

Respiratory: Throat irritation, cough and respiratory tract infection.
Nervous System: Headache and dizziness.
Other: Dryness of the mouth and fast heartbeat (tachycardia).

If side effects do not improve or become serious, speak to your doctor right away.

Management Of Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolve on discontinuing the use of Ipra Trop Respule. However, if you experience serious side effects or worsening of symptoms, consult your doctor.

Ipra Trop Respule contains two active ingredients:

Ipratropium (500 mcg): This anticholinergic bronchodilator works in your lungs, blocking acetylcholine that tightens your airways, helping relax and open up the airways, making it easier to breathe.
Levosalbutamol (1.25 mg): This short-acting β2-adrenergic receptor agonist relaxes the muscles of the airways from your windpipe to the smallest air tubes in your lungs. This increases airflow into and out of your lungs, helping breathe more easily.
Together, these two components work to provide a dual mechanism for bronchodilation, significantly improving your breathing if you have COPD.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or plan to conceive, be cautious while using Ipra Trop Respule. Consult your doctor before initiating this medication.

Breastfeeding

For lactating mothers, caution is advised while using Ipra Trop Respule. Consult your doctor to understand potential risks and benefits.

Alcohol

The interaction of alcohol with Ipra Trop Respule is not well studied. It's wise to discuss your alcohol consumption habits with your doctor before starting this medicine.

Liver

Diuretics: Using diuretics like furosemide or hydrochlorothiazide with this medicine can lead to changes in the electrocardiogram and/or low potassium levels in the blood (hypokalaemia).
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants: These medicines, such as imipramine or phenelzine, may enhance the cardiovascular effects of this respule. Use these combinations with extreme caution.

Ipra Trop Respule interacts with the following diseases:

Cardiovascular disorders: This medicine should be used cautiously by patients with heart diseases as it can affect blood pressure and heart rate.
Narrow-angle glaucoma: Ipratropium, one of the key ingredients in this medicine, may cause blurred vision or exacerbate glaucoma symptoms. Patients should contact their doctor if vision changes occur.
Prostatic hyperplasia or bladder neck obstruction: Caution is advised for patients with these conditions as urinary retention may occur.

Daily Dose

Over Dose

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Ipra Trop Respule, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Don't increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.

Store Ipra Trop Respule below 30°C in a cool, dry place.
Protect from light and don't freeze it.
Once opened the foil pouch, use the respule within two weeks; if opened, use within 24 hours.
Keep out of reach from children.
Check expiry date before use.
