It combines an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces airway inflammation and a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes the airway muscles to keep them open. Use it with a rotahaler device as prescribed; it is for regular maintenance, not for sudden breathlessness (for which you need a separate fast-acting reliever).
Rinsing your mouth with water after each use helps prevent a mouth infection (oral thrush). Quitting smoking, avoiding known triggers and following any pulmonary rehabilitation advice support your breathing alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any heart problems, diabetes, thyroid conditions or osteoporosis before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report a fast or irregular heartbeat, worsening breathlessness, or white patches in the mouth or throat.
