CompositionPROSTAGARD D 4 CAPSULE 10 is a combination medicine used to manage the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), commonly known as an enlarged prostate, in adult men. It helps relieve lower urinary tract symptoms such as difficulty starting urination, weak urine stream, dribbling, and urinary retention.
It is a combination of silodosin, an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, and dutasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the capsule whole with water. Continue treatment for the full duration prescribed, as the medicine may take several weeks to reduce prostate size noticeably.
Reduce caffeine and alcohol intake if these worsen your urinary symptoms. Moderate fluid intake throughout the day and avoid large amounts of fluid close to bedtime to reduce night-time urgency.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have low blood pressure, liver problems, or are scheduled for eye surgery (such as cataract surgery). Stand up slowly from a sitting or lying position to reduce the risk of dizziness. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant must not handle crushed or broken capsules.
