Nicomnol 1 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Prevention of deep vein blood clots

• Treatment of pulmonary embolism

• Reducing stroke risk in atrial fibrillation

• Managing blood clot risks with artificial heart valves

• Prevention of heart attacks

• Management of coronary occlusion

• Prevention of transient ischaemic attacks

• Reducing harmful blood clot formation

• Prevention of thromboembolic conditions

Follow these instructions while taking Nicomnol 1 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Take the tablet at the same time each day for consistent effects.

• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Nicomnol 1 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Nicomnol 1 Tablet 10 contains nicoumalone (1 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Vitamin K antagonism: Nicoumalone blocks the action of vitamin K, which is essential for the production of certain clotting factors in your liver.

• Clotting factor reduction: By interfering with vitamin K, this medicine decreases the production of several clotting proteins (factors II, VII, IX, and X) that are needed for blood to clot normally.

• Prolonged clotting time: The reduction in clotting factors increases the time it takes for your blood to form clots, thereby preventing harmful clots from developing in your blood vessels.

• Anticoagulant effect: While this medicine prevents new clots from forming, it does not break down clots that have already formed in your body.

Follow these instructions while storing Nicomnol 1 Tablet 10:

• Store in cool and dry place.

• Keep away from direct heat, light, and moisture.

• Keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Maintain a consistent intake of foods containing vitamin K (such as spinach, kale, and broccoli) rather than suddenly increasing or decreasing them, as these can affect how nicoumalone (the active ingredient) works in preventing blood clots.

• Drink enough water, eat a healthy and balanced diet, and try not to make sudden changes to what you eat. Be careful with any medications, supplements, or herbs, as they could affect how Nicoumalone works.
