Moxonol-0.2 Tablet is used to lower and control high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults, either on its own or alongside other blood pressure medicines. It is also used in resistant hypertension when other medicines have not provided enough control.
It contains moxonidine (0.2 mg), a centrally acting antihypertensive. Take it as prescribed. Do not stop it suddenly, especially if also taking a beta-blocker, as this can cause a temporary rebound rise in blood pressure.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support better blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any heart rhythm problems, kidney, liver or mental health problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Report marked drowsiness, a slow heartbeat, or worsening blood pressure.
