Moxon 0.2 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension), particularly when other blood pressure medicines have not worked well or are not suitable. Lowering high blood pressure helps reduce the risk of complications such as heart attack, stroke and kidney problems.
It contains moxonidine, an antihypertensive medicine that may be added to other blood pressure treatments, such as thiazides, beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors or calcium channel blockers, when these have not been effective on their own. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, generally at bedtime. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Lifestyle changes can support treatment with this medicine. These include reducing salt in your diet, maintaining a healthy weight, staying physically active as advised by your doctor, and limiting alcohol intake.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor about any pre-existing health conditions or other medicines you are taking. Contact your doctor if you notice any side effects while using this medicine.
