CompositionLipvas 40 Tablet is used to lower high cholesterol and triglyceride levels in adults, including those with familial hypercholesterolaemia, to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. It contains atorvastatin, a medicine belonging to a group called statins.
It is usually prescribed alongside a diet low in saturated fat, as part of long-term treatment. Take it as prescribed, with or without food, and continue taking it even when you feel well, as it works over time to protect your heart.
A diet low in saturated fat, regular physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, and quitting smoking all support better cholesterol control alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver or kidney problems, or other medicines you take. Report any unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, weakness, or dark-coloured urine to your doctor promptly. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
