Folitrax-2.5 Tablet is used to manage severe rheumatoid arthritis, severe psoriasis, and certain cancers including some forms treated under specialist care. It helps reduce inflammation and control disease activity.
It contains methotrexate, a medicine that suppresses the immune system. Take it exactly as prescribed and do not change the dose or frequency without your specialist's advice. Regular blood tests to monitor liver function, kidney function, and blood counts are an essential part of safe treatment.
Your doctor may recommend folic acid supplements alongside this medicine to help reduce certain side effects such as mouth sores and nausea. Avoid alcohol throughout treatment, as it increases the risk of liver damage.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney, or lung problems, and about all medicines including over-the-counter products. This medicine must not be used during pregnancy, as it can seriously harm an unborn baby. Women and men must use effective contraception during and for a period after treatment. Speak to your doctor about breastfeeding.
