• Preventing stroke and systemic embolism in adults with non-valvular atrial fibrillation

• Managing deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE)

• Reducing the risk of DVT and PE recurrence after initial management

• Preventing venous thromboembolism (VTE) in adults undergoing elective hip or knee replacement surgery

• Preventing atherothrombotic events after an acute coronary syndrome in patients with elevated cardiac biomarkers, when taken alongside aspirin, or aspirin plus clopidogrel or ticlopidine

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
