CompositionRIVABAN 20 Tablet is used to prevent and treat harmful blood clots. It contains rivaroxaban, an anticoagulant, and is used to lower the risk of stroke in people with an irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation), to treat and prevent clots in the legs and lungs, and to prevent clots after hip or knee replacement surgery.
Rivaroxaban works by reducing the blood's ability to form clots, blocking factor Xa, a protein the body needs to form blood clots, which reduces the risk of clots forming in the heart, veins or lungs.
Take this tablet at the same time each day, as your doctor prescribes, and do not stop it without medical advice, as this can raise the risk of clots.
Tell your doctor about any bleeding problems, liver or kidney disease before starting, and about other medicines you take, especially other blood thinners or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Report any unusual bruising, nosebleeds, blood in the urine or stools, or bleeding that does not stop, and tell all your doctors and dentist that you take a blood thinner.
