CompositionFebuday 40 Tablet is used to manage gout in adults by lowering the level of uric acid in the blood. It is a urate-lowering medicine that reduces the body's production of uric acid.
Keeping uric acid low helps prevent painful joint swelling, gout attacks and long-term joint damage. It is not a painkiller for a sudden attack. When you first start it, gout attacks can briefly become more frequent, so your doctor may give another medicine to cover this period. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and continue it long term.
Limit alcohol, especially beer, cut down on purine-rich foods such as red meat, organ meats and shellfish, drink plenty of water and keep to a healthy weight.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have heart, liver or kidney problems and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report any skin rash, especially if it spreads, as serious skin reactions can rarely occur. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
