Fexanto ER-40 Tablet is used for the following:

• Treatment of gout

• Prevention of gout attacks

• Management of hyperuricemia

• Reducing uric acid levels in the blood

• Relief from joint pain caused by gout

• Prevention of uric acid crystal formation

• Management of gout associated with kidney problems

• Controlling uric acid levels in cancer patients

• Alternative for patients who cannot tolerate other gout medicines

• Long-term management of chronic gout

Follow these instructions while taking Fexanto ER-40 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet as this affects the extended-release action.

• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Fexanto ER-40 Tablet is taken orally.

Fexanto ER-40 Tablet contains Febuxostat (40 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Xanthine oxidase inhibition: Febuxostat selectively inhibits an enzyme called xanthine oxidase in your body. This enzyme is responsible for producing uric acid, so blocking it helps reduce the amount of uric acid your body makes.

• Uric acid reduction: By decreasing uric acid production, this medicine helps prevent the formation of uric acid crystals in your joints and kidneys.

• Extended-release action: The tablet is designed to release the medicine slowly and steadily into your body over a longer period, providing a consistent effect throughout the day.

• Store Fexanto ER-40 Tablet at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging until use.

• Protect from light and moisture.

• Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.

• Keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Limit foods high in purines such as red meat, seafood, and organ meats, as these can increase uric acid levels in your body and worsen gout symptoms.

• Drink plenty of water (at least 8-10 glasses daily) to help flush excess uric acid from your system and reduce the risk of uric acid crystal formation in your joints.
