Fexanto ER 40 Tablet is used to treat and prevent gout by lowering uric acid levels, and to manage high uric acid levels linked to certain cancers or cancer treatments, helping prevent uric acid crystal formation in the joints.

Uses of Fexanto ER 40 Tablet are:

• Gout Treatment and Prevention: Lowers uric acid levels and helps prevent gout attacks.
• Joint Pain Relief: Eases pain caused by uric acid crystals in the joints.
• Hyperuricaemia Management: Helps control raised uric acid linked to certain cancers or their treatment.

Follow these instructions while taking Fexanto Er 40 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Continue taking the medicine even if you experience gout flares initially.

Fexanto Er 40 Tablet 10 contains Febuxostat (40 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Xanthine oxidase inhibition: Febuxostat blocks an enzyme called xanthine oxidase, which is responsible for producing uric acid in your body.

• Uric acid reduction: By inhibiting the xanthine oxidase enzyme, febuxostat effectively lowers the production of uric acid, reducing its levels in your bloodstream.

• Crystal formation prevention: Lower uric acid levels help prevent the formation of urate crystals in joints and tissues, which are the primary cause of painful gout attacks.

• Kidney protection: By reducing uric acid levels, febuxostat helps prevent kidney damage that can occur from high uric acid concentrations and crystal deposits in the kidneys.
