Ecosprin Gold 40 Capsule has three active ingredients that work together:

• Atorvastatin (40 mg): This ingredient competitively inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol.
• Clopidogrel (75 mg): It functions as a prodrug that requires hepatic biotransformation via CYP2C19 to its active metabolite. This active metabolite binds to platelet P2Y12 ADP receptors irreversibly, thereby inhibiting ADP-induced platelet activation and aggregation. This provides additive antiplatelet effects to aspirin
• Aspirin (75 mg): This component suppresses production of thromboxane A2 by irreversibly inhibiting platelet cyclooxygenase-1 enzyme. Thromboxane A2 stimulates platelet aggregation, so inhibiting it prevents excessive blood clotting.
