Clopitab-CV Gold 40 Capsule is used for the following:

• Prevention of heart attacks in high-risk patients

• Management of unstable angina

Follow these instructions while taking Clopitab-CV Gold 40 Capsule:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly as advised by your doctor.

• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

• If you have difficulty swallowing capsules, consult your doctor.

Clopitab-CV Gold 40 Capsule is taken orally.

Clopitab-CV Gold 40 Capsule contains three active ingredients:

• Atorvastatin (40 mg): This ingredient competitively inhibits an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a key role in cholesterol production in your body. By blocking this enzyme, atorvastatin helps lower total cholesterol, LDL ("bad") cholesterol, and triglycerides while increasing HDL ("good") cholesterol levels.

• Clopidogrel (75 mg): This component is a prodrug that requires transformation by liver enzymes to become active. Once active, it selectively blocks the binding of ADP to its platelet P2Y12 receptor. This action prevents platelets from clumping together, further reducing the risk of harmful blood clot formation.

• Aspirin (75 mg): This component irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) enzymes in platelets, preventing the production of thromboxane A2, a substance that causes platelets to stick together. This action reduces the likelihood of blood clot formation in your arteries.

• Blood-thinning awareness: Limit foods high in vitamin K (such as kale and spinach) as they might interfere with the blood-thinning effects of aspirin and clopidogrel in this medicine.
